Niagra - ALL 3D Emitters (GAS) templates appear black on MacOS M1 - Unreal 5.3

Hello Everyone!

I am running the latest unreal engine version 5.3 on MacOS M1 machine…

When I try to use the template of Niagara system like 3D Gas Emitters it just shows all the sim in black (no colors) - attached the image…

The 2D Emitters all work fine… Not sure if this is something related to settings or a bug. Can someone with Mac M1 Build check?

I’m actually having the same issue. I’m on an M2. Just so that you know it’s not your system. Were you able to find a fix?

yes I have the same Issue, all 3D gas emitter are black!!

I guess apart from no Nanites, Niagara systems aren’t supported either.

The Grid3D_Gas_CONTROLS_Emitter works… Not sure why the templates don’t work properly…

so if I add the control emitter, I can get the master emitter working?

If anyone has found a fix for this, please, for the love of God, tell me

I guess we will have to wait for 5.4

Also the performance on Silicon Macs is not so good…

Having this problem on my M2 Mac still. Any solutions for it??

This is still a problem on M4 sequoia 15.2 with UE 5.4.2. Anyone found a solution?

Ran into this problem myself and found a buried forum post buried that explained it - according to a dev, niagara particles do not work properly on macOS. It’s a fundamental issue with the way the operating system computes certain thigns in the engine. If you want niagara particles to work ,you have to be using a PC, and no, adding WindowsOS to your mac won’t work.
