Niagara Fluid Sim disappearing & not respecting culling settings

Hi there,

I’ve been scratching my head for the better part of 2 days now trying to figure out why my niagara fluid sim is being visually culled when I move a specific distance away from it with the camera.

I have tried the following:

  1. Culling settings both on and off on both the emitter & system. Culling settings when on were set to EXTREME distances, with zero impact.

  2. Increasing the bounding box size & its world space size for both emitter & system. Neither of which had any impact on the issue.

  3. Editing the fluid material instance to have a much higher world space vector value which also had no impact.

Here’s how it looks up close.

How it looks the further away I get. You can see almost a weird outline cutout of a circle here, which is it starting to disappear entirely.

And finally at this distance its totally gone.

Basically the TLDR of what I’m trying to accomplish is getting it to NOT disappear from any other value than one I tell it to use.

Is this potentially a hard coded element to the Fluid plugin for Niagara?

Thanks for any & all information on the subject. It’s appreciated.

The solution is to set r.HeterogeneousVolumes.MaxTraceDistance to a much higher value
