I examine different photogrammetry tools, for deciding which one to buy. CapturingReality in short list, because it extremely fast workflow and smallest memory requirements comparing to competitors.
But i have some questions.
Demo have so many limitations. One weirdest is no in app Mesh view mode.
I want check quality of generated mesh on some important for my works elements, like flatness of flat surface, sharpness without artifacts corners, holes, topology of small elements, etc. But this is not possible check in Demo because you still not implement Mesh view.
When you release update for your Demo app that will have Mesh view? (I don’t want pay 99euro for 3 month beta-trial, help you catch bugs and find that this tool can’t produce required quality.)
Second question. When you release proper manual with explanation of All advanced settings in CR app?
For 1Click app 2500euro year/subscription is too huge (99euro for 3 month comparable with Photoshop subscription, but check Photoshop help and CR). If CapturingReality is Pro tool, it required proper manual that allow use app in full power. For example, if i want understand Camera model settings, i don’t think this is right, that i should search answer in forum. (BTW, other peoples that tried CR also asked for normal Help/Manual)

As has been explained many times before, we choose the current viewing mode as it allows to inspect models up to 50 billion triangles. We are working on a quite interesting solution regarding this… No ETA for now, but it is under construction already…
The DEMO is limited in export of data and metadata…

For now there is only the app help, it needs to be extended, then it can be released as a standalone manual as a small subset of capabilities of the HELP file we are working on…
The FORUM is the best way as the standalone help file cannot contain all the stuff that you encounter in your work…
I forgot about this problem with millions of polygons. And hope that CapturingReality coders can find good solution for this. May be some solution like in Memento with on-fly LOD generation, or may be just heavy optimization like them made with other CR tasks.
Capturing Reality “user experience” and advanced Options is not so easy to understand without help or manual. So will be better if it will have manual like in Photoscan, 3DFlow Zephir or ContextCapture. Than ask in forum and wait for someone answer, especially if you live in ±10 hours difference time zone. (BTW, if CapturingReality need good design for manual, you can contact me on FB )
And last advice for this moment. As person who work in advertising industry more than 20 years, i see some misunderstanding in CapturingReality PROMO naming.It looks like 3-month TRIAL version but for money, or at least offer that will work only ones.
Why not use common “LIGHT” or if you like modern words “INDIE”. But not PROMO.

The DEMO is a DEMO and, as we have already explained, you could take 10 “DEMO-TRIALs” and reconstruct the whole New York in 10 cm resolution in few days… That is why it is limited… there are good reasons for this…
We can see numbers and we know what are people choosing and the numbers say quite easily what is the trend here…
you can see the mesh quality when your render images or videos of your scene. All you cannot export is mesh itself as a 3D object, orthographic projections and registered camera poses.
