So basically, A bunch of New and Updated tabs were removed a few months ago in favor of “NEW”, a new tab that showed new maps only, it was put nearly at the top of discovery below all Epic’s stuff so it got a lot more viewers, a lot higher CCU counts as a result.
Since its inception it was spammed by RvB, 1v1, “Chill Drive”, Aim target style of maps, it was obvious this was going to happen given its new position in discovery. No attempt in the months it was like this made any difference, those spammers just cashed in hard for almost 5 months of 2026.
Now today after the most recent sweeping discovery changes, New is just put down at the bottom of discovery and as result is getting no real ccu. The maps being shown are now magically actual New maps again, no spam, because its not at the top anymore, it has no worth.
Without context you would think these people in this NEW tab are performing terrible but in reality New was just nuked out of existence recently, put to the bottom of discovery.
Trying to increase impressions on NEW did almost nothing for honest creators for 5 months, it was advertised as a way to showcase new maps by actual creators but instead was just a paycheck for dishonest creators, spammers, a lot like Sponsored became only for the top 0.1% of creators, NEW now is worthless to any of us actual creators.
The last 5 months has been a joke, every change seemed an on purpose mistake just for Epic/FN to cash in on these spammers themselves.
They simply allowed this to happen for 5 months in this NEW tab, after putting it at the top of discovery everyone knew what was going to happen, and it did. To respond this way is to just make honest creators look bad, contrasting this with how it performed the last 5 months at the top of discovery, finally honest creators are shown in NEW but only to make them look bad again.
