For a couple of times I ran into the problem, that static meshes I created from a brush throwed wrapping UVs error messages. Didn’t found a solution in the net, so I played around until I found a very handy and helpful plugin in UE5: Modeling Tools Editor Mode
As I’m a very conservative programmer I do not enable all plugins just to see, what is possible. This plugin is marked Beta, but it safed my life, so to say.
Creating static meshes with this tool works fine, no wrapping UVs, a lot of possibilities to modify mesh, UVs and more.
Meshes created from brushes instead, even a simple cylinder, not modified, default settings create static mesh, showed up wrapping UVs error. Tried blender and others to solve this problem, but this complicates the workflow, as long as other tools do not provide a serious benefit.
@epic A hint in documentation may help to overcome this newbie problem: Use the plugin, even if marked Beta, to create proper meshes, if you don’t want to use other tools.
Just thought I share my experiences.
Btw. the editor mode for meshes is great, just started to discover the possibilities.
