Newbie learning

I work in architecture, and recently learned of the release of a free version of Unreal Engine. I am curious to explore using it for architectural visualization.

I have some experience with modeling and rendering engines, but I know nothing about UE.

Is it user-friendly enough for someone to pick up and begin learning and working in without having advanced knowledge of scripting etc? What are some solid, comprehensive tutorials for someone to learn from scratch: from basic modeling through the rendering process. Perhaps anything that covers setting up an entire scene, step by step, from beginning to end?

Are there resources for free materials, stock models, etc.?

Also, how demanding is itcon computer resources to put together a scene? (compared to say, Vray + 3DS scene full of trees and complex models)

Welcome!

First of all start with the basic video tutorials and after that directly jump right into a own project -> best way to learn. During the learning process you will have some questions which you can post into the forum or answerhub -> we are always here to help
