Newbe trying to use Unreal for the first time

Hi all. I am a programmer but have never ventured into the games world and thought it was about time I checked it out. I downloaded the latest version of UR4, made sure all my software was up to date but when I click the launcher all I get is 2 seconds of Windows egg timer then nothing. I thought it may be doing stuff in the background so I left it overnight but still nothing. As I said this is completely new to me so it may be that I’m doing something stupid or I’m missing a vital piece of software.

PC is AMD Athlon II x4
4.00 Gb RAM
64 bit Win 7
NVIDIA GFORCE 7025 on board graphics

Fromt he sounds of it, it looks like you haven’t actually initiated the Launcher to download the Unreal Engine. You have only installed the Launcher … the link above will help you understand the difference.

The problem I have is that the launcher doesn’t load so I can’t get to the option to download the Unreal Engine. All I get is 2 seconds where the Windows egg timer shows after clicking the Launcher shortcut then nothing at all happens.

Okay Wocha, it might be time to post this as a bug on AnswerHub or search AnswerHub to see if there is a possible solution there. I am sorry I can’t be of more help.
