So naturally my first post is going to be asking about a problem I’m having in UE4. I’ve set up my own custom vehicle on a level i’m building for a class I’m taking. I’ve looked at many guides and watched several videos on how to set it up, but I’m still having a problem. I’ve corrected the pivot points for my mesh in 3Ds Max and done everything to correctly export it and import it to UE4. In UE4 when I hit the play button to test it out I see the wheels turn correctly forward and back and when I steer they turn, but the vehicle does not move. I watched another video last night that gave me a clue to where the problem is. The guy making the video after he finished making his collision meshes on his car, clicked the simulate button I noticed his car dropped to the surface in the window. That is the one thing I’m noticing that I did different after picking apart his settings and video for 2 hours last night. I did set my body and 4 wheels to kinematic, so at least they don’t spaz off into space.
So anyone got any suggestions for me? I’d really appreciate it, I need to get the vehicle running tonight when I get home from work.
Ok the first shot is physics asset for my vehicle and the second is the blueprint for it. It’s a pretty basic mesh, I’m just learning it right now before I get into doing cool stuff.
When I click the simulate button, nothing happens, and in a tutorial I watched I noticed that when he clicked simulate the car dropped to the ground then just sat there. The video shows it at about the 6:05 mark.

Drives fairly well actually. Still have some issues with the wheel placement though. For some reason they are offset forward, I’m going to take a look at that tonight, tweak a couple of other things, then turn in my project for school.
When coming from 3ds max you have to make sure the vehicle position is zero or else there will be an offset. I just did a vehicle myself and couldn’t figure out why my tires were offset behind my vehicle and that was the case. Also I have found that I had to delete the skin modifier before I moved it or it would snap back to the offset position when I exported it.
