New with unreal and Reflection/refraction problems

Hi all!

After more than 20 year working on Architectural visualizations, i’m fighting against Ue4 to create realtime visualizations. Love the engine, but i have a problem.

this one:

The Glass create this strange reflect on it. Why? i can’t fix it and it’s really weird.

Any idea?

thanks a lot!!!

Remove refraction and for reflections use the new planar actor. Also, change your lighting mode (in the material) to surface translucency volume or perpixel.

You can see the sky reflection, terrain and the rock. It’s in ‘‘detail lighting mode’’ so it’s all grey. Haven’t textured yet.

Thanks for your help, but i think i’m missing something. Can’t found the “planar actor”! trying but, don’t know where to put it in

thanks a lot for your time!

Ok, i found it! it’s huge! lol.

Trying to put it on the windows

How do you incorporate the planar actor for the reflections?

The size doesn’t really matter, the actor itself will be invisible when you launch the game/scene. It’s just a way to tell which objects get reflections. Place it as close as possible to your actual window and adjust the distance from plane fade start/end to a small value so it only affect the window and not a whole other bunch of other objects. But first, make sure you activate global clip plane and restart the engine.

Here you can see the plane covers all the windows on this side of my house. You can add multiple plane all around the house.
