New update to RC PPI giving me Access Denied error when exporting model

Before the update, I’ve been successful using credits to export models but the new update gives me this error when trying to save.

When leaving the error screen 2 mins later, another error pops up.

Also wish the promo / 3 month was permanent as opposed to this PPI feature :expressionless:

Im having the same problem

Hello,

did you use the same images for creating mesh as well as creating texture? Did you clear cache before using the updated version as recommended?

Hi, i used the same Images for Mesh and Texture and the Problem happened regardless. How do you clean Cache?

There is a button for it in the WORKFLOW tab / Settings / Clear Cache -> Clear.

Please note that it can also be done automatically, depending on your settings for ‘Clear cache on exit’ in the same panel - line above.

Thanks! that solved the problem

I’m continuing to get this same issue even after clearing my cache and choosing a custom cache location as suggested elsewhere. Can anyone advise?

HI. I am having same problem.

Any idea?

Hi Stuart and jorge,

can you please describe what kind of inputs do you use for reconstruction and the steps you made when creating a model? Thank you.

i use 124 photos.

1- load photos

2- align

3- create mesh high detail

4- export., then crash.

Using laser scans and images, same error, cleaned cashe, this is painful!

Same problem and close deadline…

It’s worked fine till yesterday.

this problem was reported the first time a month ago, 6 days ago it was reported for the last time and yesterday by me (I also opened a ticket to report the bug), all users who pay to use the program.
No useful answer from the software house in the meantime, a behavior that I can expect if I use a freeware software, not a commercial software.
Thinking that I have a calculated model that I can’t export to be able to use it and I will spend the weekends using other software to solve the problem I think the only advice I can give to those who think of using reality capture is to look for something else, because it is not suitable for professional use

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the issue.

We are investigating the problem,
Is it possible that you could share with us your projects files and datasets that we can troubleshoot the issue?

Same issue here after latest update, cleared cache etc.

@Rafa CR: Is there a way to share project files and datasets privately to help your investigation? People may not want to / be able to post links to their work on an open forum

hello Thomas,

sure, you send it through our contact form: https://www.capturingreality.com/Contact

Dear all,

After collecting and analyzing more scenes (saved PPI scenes + images) we found that the problem was switching of images.

For PPI version you need to use the same set of images for REGISTRATION (align) and for creating MESH. If this is not the case then system will do this problem.

A work around is to add all images - both the set of images used to align cameras and the set for creating mesh - and license both sets. Must be all in the same project. If file names are the same, then just put them in different folders.

Reason: RC works as block-chain to implement PPI and dependency chain contains then both images used for alignment as well as for images for meshing. If you provide just one set of images then mesh (or camera poses) cannot be decrypted. The app did not solve this case in UI so far. I’m adding a dialog which will inform you about this issue so that system will notify you about the inconsistent state.

How to avoid this state? .9696 release introduced image layers where you can define image which is used for creating camera poses (mesh geometry) and image used for creating texture. PPI price is calculated using the geometry image.

Please if your issue does not meet what is described here, please contact us.

thank you
