New upcomming pricing plans for RC 1.4

As a hobbyist I have been working with Reality Capture for years, creating lots of fun projects, but never exporting the mesh.

I want to export meshes soon of various projects and I have kept a large sum of PPI throughout the years, in case I am ready to own my reconstructed models.

I now got word of the recent pricing plans, that creating models as a hobby will become free of charge…

I am a little weary about this, I have read a lot of Frequently asked questions, but none of them seem to mention how to distinguish hobbyist from large companies.

For every hobby project I use a lot of images for every reprojection, but how can I prove I am doing this for my own hobby and not for some large company?

Using PPI was a good way for the hobbyist, but it would financially kill me using a license.

Can you guys clarify the rules and lay the footprint to prove you are using RC for hobby purposes only?

Thanks in advance,

Youri

One thing you have to give Epic credit for is that when they communicate something, it’s absolutely clear. As long as you, as a hobby developer, don’t generate more than 1 million USD in revenue (annual = in one year) with the program, you shouldn’t in any way worry about acquiring a license.
