New to Unreal Engine - Need some help regarding material application issue

Hey all, I’m currently in the process of learning Unreal engine and am doing a tutorial video by ’ Bad Decision Studios ’

The question relates to materials applied toa model / asset and scaling via MF_Tiling

If you look at the attached image, you can see that the material is running in two different directions on this model (lower portion horizontal and upper portion diagonal).

The model is all one piece, and when adjusting the material/normals map via a MF_tiling node (MF_Tiling converted to a parameter) - You can see the material moves in different directions.

Auto UV - Xatlas was also used to fine tune the material to the model.

Im sure there is a simple fix, but I wouldnt have a clue - Ive played with blender in the past and under stand the concept behind normals and fliped normals, but I dont think this is the same

Any advice would be appreciated.

@Tom_Thumb1 welcome to the forum and it’s great that you have decided to learn Unreal Engine because there are so many cool stuffs to learn. I highly recommend that you check out courses below because if you learn from youtube as a beginner, you may fall in traps of trying to learn everything at once which can lead into burn out and not wanting to learn. Do not try to learn something in youtube if it look really good in the intro videos if you are beginner. You will learn bad habits. Trust me in this one.

Coursera is not perfect but it will guide you and there are times you will be stuck while taking the course but you will figure it out. I am now close to end of this course and this has tremendously helped me understand the basic. Again, this not perfect course but far better than any course available right now. Don’t give up and keep learning.

Epic Developer Community Learning | Tutorials, Courses, Demos & More – Epic Developer Community (Really good free stuff)

UEFN Boba Shop | Tutorial (Cool basic course on 3d modeling)

And this one is for someone who has can’t afford to pay for online courses, really good stuff here and I am currently learning this whenever I am free after my Coursera materials.
