Hi, my name is Zelda1201, and I’m new here. I’m currently on a laptop, but I’m getting a PC soon. I’d like to know what I can do on my laptop. Specifically, I’m wondering which version of Unreal Engine 4 I need for a Zelda fan project based on Ocarina of Time. Please note that no money is involved, and copyrights go to Nintendo. I’m doing this project for fun, not for sale and its going to be live action and CGI.

Does your Laptop have Graphics Card? What is RAM? CPU?
You will need atleast 16GB RAM for Unreal Engine 4 as well as 2060 or Higher GPU (atleast) to work Smoothly
For CPU, any modern CPU with 6 or more Core will do the Job but I will recommend 8 Core CPU
I have the Unreal Engine 4 since 5 won’t work and I’m not sure about my Ram or CPU I have downloaded 4.26 I would have downloaded 4.27 I could try that instead cuz I don’t know if it’s better also it keeps crashing on me another thing that they need to fix a lot
Like shown in this Image, After that Click on CPU and check number of Cores, then Click on GPU and Check VRAM.
IF those are above what I said in previous response then it won’t cause Problem. But it seems like you Laptop is not Powerful enough to Handle Unreal Engine 4.26 and might be getting crashed by insufficient VRAM
I would recommend getting at least (or Higher) Mid Range Computer with the Specifications I mentioned, it will help a lot in Development Process.
Unfortunately with that Specification, I don’t think any Unreal Version would work better, Your Laptop is using Pentium Processor with Integrated GPU, also 4 GB RAM is barely enough for Windows 11 let alone Unreal.
I think you should buy Used Computer that have these minimum Specification
You can Easily get this Specification Used Computer for real Cheap these Days, but don’t think going below that.
Please Note- That the Specification I mentioned are for Unreal Engine 4, You would able to use Unreal Engine 5 with that specification in Future, If you want to Plan for Future PC, lookout for Modern Hardware.
