Hi
I exported an object from rhinocerus to fbx and imported it and it looks somewhat workable but when I drag the item into the scene it follows the camera. I cannot move it either. Dont get it. The WER-buttons doesnt work for that one. The building i did is only in the horizon and cannot fly towards it, neither in “play-mode”.
Hold right click while moving around.
I think I know what your problem is. While you place the object into the level, the camera will follow it.
Once you drop it, the object can be manipulated only by the gizmo. Simple as that. Select the object and press f to focus.
If this doesn’t want to focus on the object it can be related to where the pivot point is, may be somewhere far from the object. Or something is wrong with the scale.
To fly with the camera around the level use wsad keys together with right mouse button, like Mootjuh mentioned.
Cheers.
Hi guys! Thanks for the reply. Hmm I managed to import another obj-file from rhino and somehow it works better but now I have new issues. Namely that it crashes when I try to import a more complex obj but then later also if I import a simpler file it loads but the holes are unpenetrable which is very very annoying. For example, I would almost understand not being able to pass in the whole for the door but I deleted the roof and I cannot fly through it either.
Polycount?
Check collision https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLvJnFUk3Cc
But You need an open collision to enter an open / hollow object.
Edit: When you doubleclick on your static mesh, you can remove old collision and create in ue4 with collision primitives own. Or you have to go the UCX_:Yourmeshname way.Google
