New project appears twice on EPIC launcher My Project tab

Hi!
When I create a new project in UE5, 2 copies of that same project appear in epic launcher My Projects tab. The 2 links work ok if you open them though. The difference is one has a “generic” path (eg C:/Unreal project etc) and the other uses a network path (//server/Unreal project… )…

Any way to prevent it from doing this, and to unify them and keep only one??

Hi Thhm,

Give what’s suggested in this post a try → How do I delete projects? - #9 by tmek

Edit: You might actually have better luck with this ‘fix’ Remove Project From Launcher Without Deleting - #6 by Appifiny_Solutions

In 5.x the folder you’ll find EditorSettings.ini in is now called ‘WindowsEditor’ instead of just ‘Windows’

Let us know if that method still works!

Another way to distinguish the ‘same project’ in different locations is by dropping an icon ( 192x192 PNG works for me) into the base folder (Next to the .uproject and with the same name as the .uproject)

Cheers!

Thank you very much for trying to help me out. This is just a weird behaviour that came out recently now sure why…
I was able to manually remove the copy of the project in My Projects (with your second link.) And now also I tested it and no extra copy is being created when I make a new project :cowboy_hat_face: Thanks again!
