First let me say that the results achievable with the new hair and fur system are amazing, so thank you Epic! Unfortunately as you can see in the quick test I put together, it introduces some serious depth of field artifacts.
Also I noticed that in the hair material, both scatter and backlit seem to have no effect. And it would be nice to have control over the primary and secondary highlight individually.
I expect this is why it’s “experimental” still, and not production ready. Probably a good number of changes to fix bugs and get things working that’ll break backwards compatibility before it’s production ready.
I’m well aware that it’s still experimental. Still wanted to point out the issues I encountered.
@The_Distiller If you haven’t already, would you mind reporting that via the bug submission form for our team to track?
I think the idea for them putting it out is so people like the person above can report issues…which is what he did.

It’s been an issue for 4 years now. Sadly still not fixed.
