Hello world, I am a complete newbie to unreal engine so bear with me please.
I have been learning how to use this editor to build a world with size about 1km2, a real world, from real world DEM and aerial photos.
Gone through lots of tutorial contents for over 2 months and I actually made the terrain like this.
But whenever I try to further sculpt my landscape, I get these jagged edges no matter what I do. I tried 8129, 4033, 2017, well… all same, only size of jagged tooth is different.
Then I have read somewhere that bringing in static mesh as a ground terrain is a good idea.
I tried that. From blender, made my terrain mesh with aerial photo on it to use as a painting/planting blueprints. Now I have another issue. No matter high I go for collision mesh setting, it still lacks the resolution I wish to have for collision.
You can clearly see that mannequin is under the surface due to collision mesh mismatching - or rather insufficient number of collision meshes.
Now that I believe you know what my challenge is.
I am really curious how you all handle such situation.
I have searched again and again in google/youtube, nothing fills my empty knowledge.
Would there be a nice and handy workflow not exceeding my PC’s resource? AMD7840/32GB RAM/RTX4060 mobile with 8GB VRAM.
Thanks for reading!
I am dying to know how to…
