I’m not good with the official type of stuff. It’s a small world of mine and just want to meet like minded people. I don’t mind if it’s talking, bouncing ideas, or even helping out for free. I care more about the people and experience than the profit right now.
I’ve been dissecting games since I was in my early teens. At first I sucked (Go figure). Now I suck a little less by not doing what sucks.
ahh… TL:DR version: I’m basically a giant database and solution machine that has been spending about 70% of every day doing nothing but thinking bout how to design games for the past 20 years. To say I’m obsessed would be an understatement…
in longer terms Its basically this
-
Break down systems, find the purpose or goal of the game
-
Figure out it’s contradictions
-
Figure out why those decisions we’re made in the first place
-
Address based on team size, skill level, etc.
-
Write them down and make a plan of action. How can it programmed? what systems are needed? is this efficient? etc.
At this point this feels like voyeurism… anyway
This is intrinsic that this point. I do it to literally every game I touch. I’ve been doing this for every genre… except those weird ones on steam. You know the ones. that’s bee going on for about 15 years. The point is I know a lot about games themselves, and how to achieve a goal or figure out what’s getting in the way of it. I’ve read a lot and written a lot is another way to think about it.
My personal problem… I don’t ACTUALLY know how to write code. I can read it, I can speak it. I can even blueprint it. The suck shows itself again. This pretty much applies to everything. I am the suck.
Anyway that’s all. If you want to talk then cool.
