Need Help With BSP to Static Mesh Error

I have a bunch of BSP brushes combined into a group. When I try to convert it into a static mesh, I get the error message: “Box_Brush23_StaticMesh1231 has degenerate tangent bases which will result in incorrect shading.” Then all of the materials on the static mesh get stretched and angled in the wrong directions, and were scaled wrong. Basically, all of the changes I made towards the materials before converting the BSPs were completely undone. How can I avoid this?
