I’m having trouble following this video. I’m trying to assign material IDs in the last part at 4:15, but nothing changes. The material is still staying on top of everything instead of only the parts that should be assigned. On top of that the ID map isn’t displaying correctly when i check it. Anyone know what could be wrong

The Youtube user MrParanoia says: “Edit Materials Setting” and set material to “Transparent”.
Apparently, according to MrParanoia, this won’t work on displacements and normals(?), but that wasn’t an issue on my side.
