I’m trying to create a rolling mechanism in my bossfight game. I downloaded an animation from Mixamo, retargeted it from their character to SKM_Manny_Simple, and since I wanted the character to actually move, I enabled root motion in that particular animation.
Problem is, when I actually try to use it in-game, the character seems to be jumping forward instead of rolling. I suspect it’s either because the hitbox collides with the ground, or the rotation of the capsule is affecting the outcome of the animation. Is there an easy fix or workaround for this?
Root motion settings are as follows:
Animation:
Enable root motion - true
Root Motion Root Lock - Ref Pose
Force Root Lock - false
Use Normalized Root Motion Scale - true
Animation Blueprint:
Root Motion mode - Root Motion from Everything
