Need Help Creating a Simple Map in Unreal Engine 5 (Beginner)

Hi everyone,

I’m just getting started with Unreal Engine 5 and I’m trying to create a simple map or level for learning purposes. So far, I’ve opened a blank project, but I’m not sure what steps to take next — like how to add terrain, place basic objects, or set up a character to walk around.

Are there any beginner-friendly tutorials or guides you would recommend?

Also, I’d appreciate any tips on what tools or features I should focus on first.

there are tons of resources out there. just go to your search engine of preference.

there are official courses in coursera you can do for free that i highly recommend. and youtube channels like the one from matt wadstein https://www.youtube.com/@MathewWadsteinTutorials

there’s also pristmaticadev though i think he’s a bit more advanced.

also the docs and the learning space here in the ue community. is right there on the left on your screen under “Learning”.

though the best way to learn is doing.
