Need help building PC.

I’ve never built my own pc and need help building something that is compatible with each other.
My budget would be anything that ranges from €2000-€3000, with some breathing room. I will be using UE 5.5.

I tried building myself but i cant make evrything work in Unison. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • CPU:
    • 9800X3D
    • or wait for 9950X3D (couple of months?)
  • half decent air cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE / DeepCool AK620
  • GPU:
    • GeForce 4080 (‘Super’ if you can but meh)
    • or 4090 but that’s close to 3k territory
    • or Radeon RX 7900 XTX - no clue what you’re going to work on but the vRAM might be crucial
  • 2 x 32GB DDR5 RAM 6000MHz - corsair vengeance is fine
  • MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK
  • system WD_Black SN850X 1GB
  • storage WD_Black SN850X 2GB (something cheaper is fine but make it 2GB)
  • 850W / 1000W Gold rated Power Supply - again, Corsair is fine
  • a nice big case that you like, plenty of space and airflow

The first rule for building in 2024 is: no Intel-based builds.
From this follows the second rule: for the next few years, build PCs only with AMD.
For a GPU, go with a 3080, 4070, or 4080, with a focus on memory capacity.
In this budget range, it’s better to go with 64 GB RAM or more. A 2x32 GB kit is currently the most optimal option.
Choose a power supply with a minimum Gold certification, or preferably Platinum.
For storage, I recommend an M.2 SSD as the system drive, a SATA SSD for work files, and a classic HDD for project archives since HDDs are generally more reliable.
A spacious case is essential — the more free space, the better the airflow, and the lower the temperature for all components overall.
Finally, I wouldn’t recommend chasing after liquid cooling. It looks nice, but the benefits are often overhyped by marketing; air cooling is often more than sufficient.
