So I have meshes of asteroids and what I want is to be able to edit the mesh so that there are caverns/holes that run through an asteroid so players can fly through it. I’m not an expert 3d artist so I bought most of my assets and I’m looking for the easiest way to do this. I use Blender when I need to edit meshes? Any advice or tips? I have both uasset and obj files from multiple creators, assuming I can’t change the uasset meshes.
Hi,
If you have the .obj files just import them to Blender, edit your mesh, and then reexport it in .fbx. After this, just import the .fbx to the engine.
Thanks Kontur. Editing the mesh in Blender;
does anyone know how to do a volumetric removal? I have an oblong long tube shape as shown in this video at 13:11 (how do you link to time in a youtube video?)
I want to take that cavern and then remove it from the asteroid mesh. Appreciate the help. Can I just make the cavern the overriding mesh and the inside of the cavern will remain hollow?
