nDisplay for single node, single video output, multi-viewport

I see that nDisplay has a template called “NDC_Multi_Viewports” which creates a setup for multiple viewports, but still for a single computer and single video output.

A similar result can be achieved without nDisplay by “simply” using multiple camera actors and some compositing, which seems seems simpler and less intrusive.

Are there benefits from using nDisplay for such a setup (single computer, single video output)? Is UE5 maybe using multiple processes or doing its rendering through a different code path that’s more performant?
