Nanite Tool?

  • I can’t find the Nanite Tool anymore.
  • Is it gone? Different name of the tool?
  • Where and how to find?

@issue:
I am using the latest 5.4. I can’t find the Nanite Tool anymore.
In previous versions, I could use the Nanite Tool to select multiple Static Meshes.
Bulk Select and convert them to Nanite objects.

@goal:
My goal is the same. I would like to list all static meshes within my project and then have the possibility to bulk select Static Meshes to convert them to Nanite.

Thanks for any ideas, thoughts and help,
appreciate it!

Hey @BernhardRieder!

I found an old post from last year talking about this, it’s apparently been deprecated. :frowning: However, there are still ways to do this, it was deprecated in favor of just using the content browser to do so. This thread also has a python module to do what the nanite tool used to do!

Hope that helps!

thank you so much. I wonder why this tool was deprecated. I am not getting it.
How can you utilize the content manager showing Nanite meshes only?
Couldn’t find any more info to this - perhaps a custom nanite filter?

Well, I can give you a few steps here. You can’t sort by nanite natively (you can with custom filters) but you CAN get all static meshes in your project or any folders.

Then you can use CTRL+A to highlight all, or select which ones you want specifically, and mass enable or disable Nanite use.

Now as for a custom filter- I am going to give you the page where I figured this out and you can try to use it to build your filter yourself, as a learning tool and to learn how to do custom filters yourself! That being said, if you would rather me just tell you the answer just let me know and I’ll post it. :slight_smile: I try to give people the tools to their success instead of just doing it for them when it’s doable.
