Nanite overview / triangles not showing on Mac (M2 Ventura)

Hey,
Anyone know why I am not getting a nanite visualisation (overview / triangles) in Unreal 5.3.2 on a Mac M2 / Ventura 13.6)?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Just created a new project from ‘third person’ template, imported a simple mesh and converted it to Nanite - same issue! After some testing I can confirm that Nanite is simply not working.

Nanite support was in beta with previous UE versions and not enabled by default, don’t know if this still is the case.

Hey there @Damian_Grady welcome back to the community! Previously in 5.2 you had to enable nanite for M2s by downloading a specific version from github. However 5.3 should have support enabled out of the box for all versions as long as you’re running shader model 6. The support is still in beta however so it’s entirely possible something’s broken.

In the project settings, is Nanite enabled? (Under Engine/Rendering)

Nanite is enabled in project settings, checked as well if forward shading is disabled.

This time I added a Nanite mesh from QuixelBridge and placed it into the map. In the content browser the mesh properties clearly indicate that Nanite is enabled, but enabling Nanite visualization does nothing.

It turns out that Nanite for mac M2 is still in beta and is NOT enabled by default! Enable the ‘Mac Metal Dektop Renderer Beta’ checkbox to activate the SM6 shader model.

First attempts with Nanite displacement materials failed, but Nanite meshes and their visualization seem to work.
