Feels like there’s some misunderstanding here. No one is trying to get you to give up. Nanite wasn’t designed for this, you can either keep at it and hope for a breakthrough (either your own or someone elses) or you can go with a tried and true method, it’s your call and I have no stake in it either way.
Nanite SHOULD be designed for this. “Nanite achieves detail down to the pixel.” A literal quote from the UE5 trailer. This post was also meant to address this, and hopefully they will implement Nanite for smaller meshes as well, such as foliage, which is why I made the thread. It’s supposed to render small detail, not destroy it.
The dream (or at least, the ultimate goal) is for Nanite to eventually replace everything, but that’s not the case currently. Anyones guess if/when that will happen.
I want Nanite to be more than a rock simulator, so I’ll keep bringing attention to this with new threads every couple months. This is the second one lol.
