Technical Reference

AutoLandscapePro builds a complete, art-directed landscape material right in the Unreal Editor — colours, gradients, elevation bands, your own textures, and weather — and pushes it onto your live terrain in a single click. Start from a ready-made look, paint by height and slope, drop in your own PBR textures, or just describe the world you want in plain English.

No node graphs. No material spaghetti. No black landscape. Just a fast colour-and-texture tool that works on regular Landscapes, Open World, and any mesh.

Four ways to build a look

  • Presets — 133 ready-made looks across 14 categories. Pick one, click apply, done.

  • Colorize by terrain — paint your landscape by height, slope, and aspect through a library of 100+ gradients. Snowy peaks, wet valleys, and sun-facing slopes are coloured automatically.

  • Design with AI — describe the look you want ("volcanic basalt with green mossy lowlands") and AutoLandscapePro drafts a matching palette for you. (Your own AI key — see below.)

  • Your own textures — composite your albedo, normal, and ORM textures onto up to 6 elevation bands, with tiling, blending, and composite modes. Bring your own surfaces, marketplace packs, or Quixel/Megascans.

Built for real projects

One-click apply, anywhere — regular Landscape actors, full World Partition / Open World maps, or any static mesh. Works across your whole Open World, every streaming tile.

A deep, live effects stack — auto-snow above a snow line, wetness and puddles in the lowlands, weathering, sedimentary strata on cliffs, posterized terracing, and full colour grading. Every effect is off by default, so a clean look stays clean.

Global weather bus — turn a whole level snowy or rain-soaked from a single control.

Interactive elevation chart — drag the bands directly on a live cross-section of your terrain.

Kind to your framerate — it's one shared master material, not a pile of nodes, so it stays light and never trips Unreal's texture-sampler limit.

Renders right, every time — every look is colour-checked before it lands, so you never get the dreaded black landscape.

Own it. No meter.

One-time purchase, lifetime updates. No subscription, no credits, no usage fees.

  • Bring your own AI key for Design with AI — Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google — or run it fully local with Ollama. Your prompts go only to the provider you choose; nothing is sent to us. The entire preset / colorize / textures / effects workflow works with no AI at all.

  • 100+ gradients, yours to use — a royalty-free colour library you can ship in any project.

Who it's for

Indie devs colouring big worlds fast, without hand-painting every landscape. Environment artists who want art-directed terrain without wiring node graphs. Archviz, previs, and virtual-production teams dressing terrain at scale. Students and hobbyists who want a great-looking landscape in minutes.

Requirements & dependencies

  • Engine versions: UE 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8.

  • Platform: Windows (Win64). It's an editor-time tool; the materials it builds work on any target platform.

  • Dependencies: none beyond the base engine — no other third-party or user-made plugin required.

  • Optional AI features (Design with AI) require your own API key (Anthropic / OpenAI / Google) or a local Ollama install. Every non-AI workflow works without them.

The optional Design with AI feature uses a large language model only to turn your text description into editable colour parameters, and only when you supply your own API key (Anthropic / OpenAI / Google) or run a local model (Ollama). No AI runs without your key, and no buyer data is sent anywhere except your chosen provider.
