My yearly Christmas short...

Started yesterday at 13:00 Berlin Time and the short was uploaded on Youtube at 00:30.
So it took me about 11 hours from start to finish, including research, render, post, enhancement and upload.
I started with checking elements, found that Krampus, the Elf, the tree and the abandoned House.
Enough to start working. The idea evolved while working on it…
Voices are made with Replica, animation Elf done in iClone, animation Krampus done in Unreal, render UE5.
Post Davinci Resolve, enhancement Topaz Video AI
Merry Christmas!

Greetings @TOYSTORYLAB !

It’s sooo unbelievably amazing that you completed this Christmas short in 11 hours! You couldn’t have taken many breaks!

I don’t know much about Krampus, but I think the basic premise is that this scary, horned beast visits misbehaved children and leaves them crappy gifts, while St. Nicholas leaves pleasant gifts for the well-behaved children.

The cinematography here is great! The setting of the Victorian-style abandoned house is perfect for the story. The opening sequence puts you in a festive, cheery mood as we follow the little elf on his journey. (Nice foreshadowing with the Santa painting! ) He is so cute carrying a tree that is still quite small compared to the environment around him. I didn’t expect for the elf to look up and see the towering figure behind the desk. I’m not going to lie, that roar shook me up inside!

As a horror movie fan, this short is quite refreshing! We need something dark to balance out all of this Christmas cheer! LOL! I do agree with Krampus. There is no need to pretend to be that which you are not. Be yourself! To that, I add, be the best version of yourself that you can be!

Did you create a storyboard for this short, or did you create the script and sequences as you developed along?

Merry Christmas! :christmas_tree: :cloud_with_snow:
Now off to binge watch the Krampus horror movies that I have yet to see!

I see Santa took not being able to get help with his sleigh troubles from Nebraska Car Assistance last year personally.

Thank you, @TOYSTORYLAB; for sharing another thoughtful Christmas message with us this year! I agree entirely with @Get_DOVAH_it; the quality of this production is fantastic, and I, for one, am happy to have witnessed you hone your animation skills and produce better and better creations this year. Happy Holidays! :christmas_tree:

Thank you very much, I really appreciate you watching and commenting my work.
As most personal shorts I do; NO storyboard, no script, it all happens while working. This is my favorite way to get things done and I simply “fall” into “let’s be creative” and I forget time and world around me…
