My version of unreal editor wont initialize and gets stuck at 45% loading

I downloaded my version of the editor at 4.18.3 and i tried letting the editor initialize but the editor gets locked at 45
5 for a very strange reason

How long have you waited?

takes some time, just wait.

If you’re opening an existing project for the first time, the engine will spend a lot of time rebuilding textures, materials and other content. If you’re launching from visual studio and look at the output log, you can see what the loader is currently spending its time on.

Here the same problem with the same version. I’ve waited during 2 hours, my PC is veeery bad, but it can runs perfectly UE4 version 1.12.5, but I don’t want to use this old version because there aren’t the features what I need.

When I open UE4 1.18.3, the loading screen freezes and the ‘Initializing…’ points are freeze. I can’t go to my projects panel and the create projects panel, this happens when I open the editor.
And I have only 2 projects: 1 of the simple third person and another for mobile with only 3 super-low-poly models and 2 textures. Help :frowning: (I known, Im not the OP)

What is your computer spec?

Hey my machine is getting stuck too. I am running version 4.60. I have an Nvidia 2080i RTX card. All I am doing is starting a new project.

It’s getting stuck at 45%

Still waiting - stuck at 45%

since THE {starts epic god like music} THE DAWN OF TIME …and seeing how graphic card updates are gonna take 4 trillion more years due to scalping and morons that pay 5x what retail is , i guess i will wait till then too.
/humor

still waiting - I reinstalled visual studio and still no luck. I started a blank project without raytracing turned on.

Is version 4.26 corrupted?

My system:
Intel i9-9900k
1 TB SSD
GeForce 2080i RTX
32 GB Ram

I turned off Firewall and added UE with permissions

what else can I try

I did a fresh install of version 4.60 - it still does not initialize past 45%

depends on a project that you opening. with your spec tho it should not take more then 4 hrs if your project is big. i used to leave it for 12 hrs on a first launch with my old i5

This shader compiling **** is one of the biggest downsides of Unreal Engine that pushes some people away. It takes too much time and you have to go through this process again and again for no reason.
