my unreal engine updated itself to 5.7.4 from 5.7.2. i have a diversion project setup for the older engine. what now?

My unreal engine updated itself from version 5.7.2 to 5.7.4. after it started the download, i could not stop it. once it had completed the install, i could no longer roll back to the old version again. If i was working on this project alone, i would have probably tried to open a copy of the project with the new version and hoped for the best. but since i work with a few other people, i did not want to potentially mess up the project by opening it with the new version.

i tried asking Gemini what to do about this. it suggested getting downloading the source code for the 5.7.2 version on github and building the engine manually.

I tried building the older 5.7.2 engine, but i now cannot add the diversion plugin to it. since the new engine is not in the epic launcher, i can not add plugins to it anymore.

Now i don’t know what to do anymore. i am worried the newer version might mess up something in the shared project. but at the same time, the manually built older engine will not let me connect to diversion. i could do with some advice on this matter. what can i do now? should i continue trying to make the older, manually built version work (if so, how?), or should i try my luck the the newer version?

I am completely stuck now.
