Im suffering the same problem as well, hoping this interaction will get it some attention
Out of curiosity, have you looked at the launcher’s logfiles to see if there’s anything in there that might provide a clue? They’ll be in the C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\Logs
directory by default.
i have managed to get unreal 5.0.1 to download to 1 gig of the app then stopped it because i am on hot spotting limited time wise so when i tried to resume i am stuck on a endless loop the file saying to me saying (please wait…)
i found a fix try this it fixed my endless please wait unreal 5 install loop 1. Go back to Date and time settings, and select Add clocks for different time zones
2. Then click on the Internet time tab.
3. Hit the Change settings button.
4. Use the drop-down menu and select the time.nist.gov time server. try this it worked for me see pic one an 2
Choose a different folder to download(new folder or empty)…it works for me
I just wanted to follow up confirming that the Date and Time was the issue for me as well (on a freshly installed OS). This worked.
I had the same issue and the problem is, Unreal Engine has a update but your launcher is outdated.
Meaning click on settings bottom left and update your Epic Launcher. After the restart the UE will download the update.
this was my problem too. thank you
There’s no way to manually update the launcher in the settings. There’s just a checkbox for Auto Updates. For me the message went away by the time I finished typing this.
mine’s atill stuck on “please wait” even after fixing time and i dont have an update for the epic launcher (i downloaded the launcher yesterday ) i tried troubleshooting and it said OS requirements are not met (it needs windows 7 or similar but im on windows 10?)
its been on “please wait” for hours
its work for me also thankyou
Go to Task manager-find epic games launcher running-right click and end task
for my case i just change the folder and it finally instal
This worked for me too.
