My UE4 is running slowly

i have recently installed and started using unreal engine 4 however it is running unbarably slow.

I am using a mac which, until now, i thought was fairly powerful.
the specs are:
Processor - 2.8 GHz Inter Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz CCR3

I have already reduced all the engine scalability settings. Also i have closed down all application i dont need and have updated my system to the latest software.

Is there anything i am missing? What can i do to speed up performance for UE4??
Please help!

Hello! Add RAM to at least 8Gb

im guessing i need to update hardware to do that?

Important 2 components:

  • Video card-class GTX 700 series and above
  • RAM at least 8Gb

I have just purchased a new RAM kit- 8GB.
As for the video card, i checked with the apple store and i am unable to change the video card or processor for a mac book pro.
Hopefully the new RAM makes a difference.

Then it all depends on your GPU graphics card.
