My ssd on loading project too slow

When i working on my project, my ssd is too slow. What could be the problem?

It just looks like you just have waaaaaay to much data, broken into little bits?

From what I can see, that looks like a project that uses approx 360k files, each file being about 1GB, spread over 80k folders.

That’s always going to take forever to load, I think…

Hi, my engine have 250000 files. Try try to free up the ssd?

As long as the engine isn’t on the same drive.

Not at my machine right now, but I don’t think I have anything like 80k folders.

More like 300, low hundreds anyway.

Apparently, a lot of folders can slow the content browser down, try googling:

  • ue4 project slow when using too many folders

‘Fixup redirectors’ might help, but it also looks like you might need to have a coffee

Hi, I drank some coffee, installed the engine on the NVMe SSD, and the disk with the project started working fine. Thanks.

I just checked my main project: 42k files, 7k folders. So I guess your project is substantially bigger, not as big as it sounded, but enough to cause the old SSD caching problems… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Yes, making the ambitious project) Often causes troubles)
And i can’t figure out how to use SRT subtitles in my bink videos. I seem to have followed the instructions from Epic Games, but they play after the video

That I don’t know about, I’m afraid…

Looks good :+1:
