I recently upgraded from RTX 2080ti to Quadro A6000 and I am not getting any performance boost in Editor mode or in Render. Faced multiple crashes during render.
City Sample (Editor Mode) - 20 fps
My PC config
Processor - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2698 v3 @ 2.30GHz
GPU - Quadro A6000
Memory - 32 GB DDR4
PSU - 685W
Cabinet - Dell Precision 5810
The A6000 vs 2080ti - this Quadro is marginally better in most things. Quadro A6000 would perform better in heavy CUDA and other rendering tasks. Real-time wise - it’s about the same.
As for the crashes, make sure you do a clean install of Nvidia drivers.
Btw your Xeon might be your bottle neck for performance, it’s not fast enough to feed your GPU
