This seems narrowed down. Can everyone else here see if they have this program and try closing it to see if it fixes the issue? If so, we’ll be adding it to the list of software conflicts, I’m unfamiliar with the software myself but it seems to be an audio ‘booster’ of sorts and isn’t necessarily required for audio to work, so disabling it should work as a workaround.
Something I wanted to note was that I have a feeling the program was slowing the entire system down in certain programs, not just UE4.
For example, EA’s Star Wars Battlefront runs fine, but some times would run terribly (same problem as UE4) more than likely as a result of the software.
When Sonic Suite 2 is turned off, it runs smooth as butter.
So it seems the software has more of a windows conflict than a specific UE4 one, but definitely should be noted for anybody else buying this motherboard in future
Yes, just did a quick test and it was indeed Sonic Suite 2. I never noticed a problem in anything else but that may have been because nothing else I was doing was intensive enough to make the problem visible.
Thank you both for confirming this. I’ve added Sonic Suite 2 to the list of software conflicts with UE4. If the program has a particular version number (other than the “2”) it would be helpful to have that for the documenting purposes. In the meantime, I’ll be marking this as the correct answer for the question. If anyone still has the problem after disabling Sonic Suite 2, just comment here and let us know.
It seems asus software tends to be rubbish and causing all manner of problems for people. Unfortunately, I can’t find a way to uninstall Sonic Suite 2…I think it’ll just have to be disabled on start up
