My PC gets rebooted whenever I adjust the brightness significantly for a texture that is larger than 4k, especially when the editing tool is placed on another monitor.

I just imported my textures from Substance Painter into the game engine and found the texture to be too bright. So, I set the brightness slider to a value of 0.5. However, as soon as I pressed Enter to confirm my input, my PC suddenly rebooted.
After several tests, I found that it always happens when the texture is over 4k and the value change is significant, especially when the texture editor is placed on my second monitor.
The engine version is ue5.4.2 and my windows version is windows 11 23H2.
This is my PC:
i7 14700kf
rtx 4070ti
64g ddr5
Regardless of the GPU driver version, the issue persists. It occurs with the latest driver updates and was also present with previous versions

It does not occur in Unreal Engine 4.24 or 4.27, it merely exhibits choppiness in UE 4. In contrast, in Unreal Engine 5, the issue escalates to causing a direct reboot or shutdown

Looks more like a pc instability issue. Try turning off any form of overclocking.

Do you have a powerfull enough psu to handle your hardware at full load? What is is watage rating? You might be getting a power spike tripping the power suppies surge protection.

Thank you for your assistance. I’ve noticed that the issue might be related to power consumption. Initially, I only slightly reduced the graphics card frequency, but following your reminder, I substantially decreased the power usage for both my GPU and CPU, and the error has not recurred.

I would sugest investing in a ups (uninterrupted power supply) to balance out any power fluctuations, if your psu is high quality and at least 850w.
