My paint tool is painting a whole tile of terrain at a time, any idea why?

I have imported my terrain to unreal 4.6, then updated the project to 4.7. Worked well, and I have to thank the community for that help, it was much needed!

Now I would like to paint it up - and I followed this tutorial in order to do so :

This is what my terrain looks like at present, with the landscape material thrown onto it from the tutorial :

This is what the paint tool looks like (layer info is added etc and the brush has normal settings also)

And then, the moment of truth - I click a layer from the paint tool, then click a random point on the map, then this happens :

As you can see, it appears to throw down a full square of the texture, as opposed to layering it down?

Any idea why?

Hmmm, it would appear that the fix for this was to paint back over the tile with the grass texture again.

After that I can paint the way I wanted - weird.

Before you start painting I would always paint over the entire terrain with one layer + a strength of 1 -> after that this shouldnt happen anymore :slight_smile:
