My metallic material has black spots/not rendering correctly

I’m using a trim sheet but the metallic parts have these weird dark spots

What makes it weird is that the metallic parts are rendered properly in the asset preview window

I have to mention that this asset is huge, like 700 feet wide, and when I scale the asset down the metallic parts are rendered properly.

I thought it had to do with the normal map but even when I got rid of it the error still persists. Next thing I did was to turn off the parallax occlusion mapping that the material had but even that didn’t fix the problem.

I’ll leave a screenshot of my material

Metals rely heavily on reflections. What UE uses for reflections depends heavily on how a scene is setup.

If you’re using lumen, there’s the reflection debug view under lit for the lumen scenes, make sure that represents your scene well.

If you’re using baked lighting, it’s SSR + reflection probes + skylight. Make sure the reflection probes are placed well and built.

If you’re not using lumen or baked lighting, it’s the skylight + ssr. For the skylight, you often need to change the lower hemisphere color from black to a neutral grey. Or use an HDRI of an interior space instead of a sky, or capturing the scene with a Scene Cube Capture actor and using that.
