My MetaHuman is gray, i need help.

In MetaHuman, my human is gray. It’s just the skin, the hair and eyes have no issues, but the skin is gray. I’ve checked the skin color and it is what it should be but that’s just not what is displayed on the MetaHuman. I have gone in an undone any actions before the skin change that could have triggered it, but it is still gray.

it is starting to look like I might have to find a way to just recreate the same one from scratch which would be very difficult and I’m proud of what I created. please, I don’t want to lose my progress.

Hi, I know this is late and you probably know this now—but for anyone else with the same problem, assembling the metahuman and adding it to a map fixed the issue for me.

Your preview material is set to “clay”. That’s why the skin turned gray. Set it back to skin should solve your issue.

For those who are very new to Unreal Engine and are having the issue where the skin tone turns grey: ALSWorkshop mentioned that “Your preview material is set to ‘Clay’,” but even finding that option took me another 30 minutes. There may have been some updates in MetaHuman.

The skin appears grey because at the top toolbar there is a “Skin” option. Simply switch it from Clay to Skin, and the normal skin tone will return
