my listings been sanctioned and declined - help needed please!

Cant believe how obtuse and unhelpful the messages ive got back relating to my files have been! Im wondering if someone can help me here?

Im trying to submit a UI kit that ive uploaded as a unity package and also a couple of zip files of PNGS and PSDs.

After submitting the first time everything seemed to pass - except that I needed to link to my asset on the unity asset store - thats all grand I thought…

However now ive got an email (and it reads as if im trying to smuggle drugs or something). that it’s been delinked and sanctioned because of a filetype thats not allowed! -No other information at all :(.

Is it the zip files I cant upload? If not - I cant see any way of editing my declined listing to remove them :(. Do I need to create a totally fresh listing adding all the information again just to resubmit?

thanks for your help
Nick

I had the same problem becouse instead of a fbx in the migration from sketchfab, it migrated a zip file and i got the scary sanction message. And after fix i got another since i had to change to mature content but i got an error, and appealed the message and got another sanction :).

I’m having this same issue
Moderation tools mentioned are Human Review and Automation tools

Which is a cute way of saying “yeah, an AI that can’t look deeper that ones and zeroes is looking for through it”

I sent an appeal on a sanction and was IMMEDIATELY denied.
Unreal marketplace had a history of assets being left in the “Changes Needed Purgatory” but at least I was able to actually talk to a human person and get my problems fixed.
Let me know if you ever find a solution. It is incredibly upsetting to me, cause the model they removed is one of my best sellers.

Ok, Update on this.
I figured out what was wrong with my issue.
If its an imported model from Sketchfab, you might want to review your additional files. Theres so files I had on this particular asset pack that was deemed “Incompatible” but I updated be files and fixed the issue.

So you should review any additional files you’ve attached and resubmit it once youve made compatible files.

But yeah this process seems to be mostly handled by an automated tool. Keep that in mind when making Additional Files.

I’m having the exact same issue, except in my case it’s a code plugin (100% written by me and selling on the Unreal Marketplace since 2020), and the sanction says “violated our rules on Infringing or Unauthorized Content relating to Epic Games Content Guidelines”. Absolutely no information about what’s actually wrong with it.

  1. I submitted a file update
  2. 2 days later it got approved
  3. 5 minutes later it got sanctioned (with no explanation) and the store page taken down
  4. I appealed and the sanction was lifted in a few hours (with no further information), but the page remained down
  5. I resubmitted the update and got sanctioned again.
  6. I appealed the second sanction and got a message that the sanction was upheld, plus this rather condescending note “You received sanction(s) because you violated our rules, which are designed to keep the Epic Games ecosystem safe and fun for everyone”.

I’ve opened a support case and haven’t received a reply yet.

I most certainly didn’t violate anyone’s copyright with this code I wrote, but whatever AI they use to handle this thinks I did. My store page has been down days with no explanation because of some faulty automated system. This is not an acceptable way to treat publishers or customers.

Did you get to talk to a human person via Fab support or something else?

It has been weeks since I’ve first attempted to talk to a HUMAN at Fab.
haven’t heard anything yet.

Only been told my automated tools that WITH NO ELABORATION about why something is declined or put on notice.

I understand theres a high volume of cases submitted on the daily.
However, the same was the Case for the Unreal Marketplace.
And I NEVER was contact by a BOT on the Marketplace.
It seems even asset approval is managed by AI as well. Because I see A LOT of mislabled assets. I saw 4 uploads the other day of Axes named Hammer.
I remember getting called on the marketplace saying “hey your project files are named this you have to change the title of the asset pack.”

And yet models are processed in this “Sketchfab 2.0” and approved in minutes. No quality control at all.

hi - ive only just seen these replies. This doesn’t bode well for the future - hopefully they’ll sort that game out!!
