My game crashed and I lost it all

Is there any hope of finding the shaders and materials that I created over the last month? I’ve looked through game files on both the unreal side and my computer side and it’s all gone from what I can see. I’m not sure if a backway exists to find these items that I spent so much time on.

Thank you,
TJ

I’m not sure if it’s possible to recover them. Hopefully someone smarter then me can chime in.

Backups, backups, backups; they are very important.

Do you mean that the .uasset files got deleted from the \Content\ folder?

I’ve just tested it – just copied a .uasset file from another project to the content folder, and UE immediately showed that there’s had been changes in the content folder and asked if I wanted to import new files.

I have found a later back up that I can use in the files which is great so I can transfer the .uasset files, however I cannot find how to make unreal recognize the these files in a different game file. it shows my folders, but not the assets themselves.

so the uassets show up that I’ve moved them in the computer under my project file, however I cannot see them in unreal itself. All I see in unreal is that I have folders that are empty
