I’ve been working on this game for almost a year now, in my free time.
It’s a supercharged version of the old-school brick breaker, with a new formula drawing from the survivor genre, with progression, abilities and upgrades. I went full on arcade-neon vibe and it gets very frantic after some runs.
I took it as a bit of a challenge, using blueprints only, no plugins, no store assets, … basically Unreal vanilla. It runs pretty well despite the absence of nativization.
I’ve been using Unreal professionally as a level designer for many years and have been a lifelong fan of the engine. I really wanted to touch on other areas and explore more of the tool, to see what a single dev could accomplish even with a limited skillset.
