Hi. I just wanted to post my first ever game that I put some real hours into. I know it’s terrible and buggy, but I am very proud of it! I’ve learned everything from UE4 Docs and YouTube videos. I’d love to hear what the actual community thinks!
Greetings @isikdev, and thank you for sharing your awesome creation, “Scavenge Hunt: World of Goblins,” here in the Unreal Engine Forums! For your first game ever, this project came out splendid! How long did it take you to put this in its entirety? Are you already embarking on another project?
Hi! I really appreciate that. This project I worked on for probably approximately around ~2 weeks, but I had no clue what I was doing. Currently I’m working on a third person dungeon crawler project which has goblins (yes, again xd) as its main theme. I will definitely be sharing that as well when it’s in a better stage, for comparison!
Have a great day.
Nice work @isikdev This project is awesome, gives me memories to the old days. Hope I can be successful in making games like you. Again Nice Work!! Keep it up.
Hey man that’s so nice of you! I would not call my self successful since this has so many issues on performance and stuff but I really do appreciate that <3
Nice job. It’s one small step for isikdev, one giant leap for isikdev’s career in game development. Every game you make will get 10% better each time.
I hope it will! I feel like now I put more attention into small details so everything comes out a little more polished.
@DIESEL.be I really appreciate that and I believe you will, very simply if you have the dedication/motivation to learn for real. Be sure to share here or anywhere!
The pleasure was all mine. I’m also glad to hear you’ve started on your newest creation, and I look forward to seeing it when you’re ready to share.
Take care!
How did you manage the gun clipping to the wall in that less time?
HI there @isikdev,
Congrats on your first game!!
What a journey a single video shows. And not to make assumptions but were you a WoW fan? The dragon death animations, murloc noises, and spider death sounds hit me right in the nostalgia. Absolutely love it!
Keep developing and sharing your craft, you’re doing brilliantly!
Haha yeah totally right! Die-hard WoW fan here! I really appreciate the kind words. Really keeps the mood up! Btw, it sucks that the current state of the WoW is not what it used to be…
Hey everyone.
If you are ever interested in checking this out yourself, I decided to put it on Itch.io, it has got its bugs and issues but if you want a legit “my-first-game” experience, then go ahead and check it out here:
Let me know how you find it!
Don’t mind if I do; I will definitely test “Scavenge Hunt: World of Goblins” out and let you know what I think!
Hello again, @isikdev; I had the pleasure of playing your game recently and had an absolute blast! The enemy creatures you present in your game caught me off guard. Especially the “Dangerous Sand Spider”; I couldn’t help but run away and shriek any time they popped up. Overall, your game’s mechanics worked fine, and I really enjoyed exploring your creation.
Kudos on the fine work done with your first-ever game!
Hi @Zezkaii! Love to hear that. That build is ridiculously hard, so if you managed to finish the level, kudos to you!
I’m very happy to hear that! Can’t wait to share my next project with the community, I promise it is so much better, haha. Thank you again, have a great day/night.
The pleasure is all mine! Admittedly, I was not able to complete the level. The enemies always got the best of me.
Nevertheless, I still enjoyed my time playing, and I can’t wait to see what kind of exciting game you whip up next!
Mouse sensitivity is a bit high for me please add slider bars to the control menu about the mouse sensitivity i.e X-axis, Y-axis and Targeting Sensitivity. As this would be better for low sensitivity players.
