my character capsule is not working well

Hello, I have a problem with my character with his collision capsule. It doesn’t seem to follow the animation well, especially when I jump. it stays parked in the place where I walk

Hi Hector,

In the Third Person Template the Capsule Component is the root object in the Character. I’d make sure your setup matches that.

Also try changing ‘Jump Z Velocity’ in your Character Movement Component to match your animation.

hello. Thanks for responding, I’ll send you how I have the character configured. I think the problem is that I used Mixamo to animate. As for the z speed jump, if I add value my character would fly and if I go down, it doesn’t leave the ground

Hey @Hector40!

Are you using root motion/depending on root motion for your jump movement? Would you mind sharing your animation setup as well as the settings for your jump animation?

Any additional specifics you provide may go a long way in solving your problem!

there is no solution?

Hey @Hector40,

What about your animation settings for the animation itself? You can find them on the left hand side of your animation. Is the animation(s) root motion?

hello. Thanks for answering, here is the configuration of the jump animation

What could be done to solve the problem?

Hey @Hector40,

So looking at this, have you tried forcing the root lock on the animation? Your animation seems to be simply separating from the capsule itself. Looking at this from a different approach, is this one jump cycle animation that is not broken down into parts? If so, you will not be able to control the animation based on how long the jump is and you would need to break apart the animation similarly to how it is broken apart for the third person template animations.

It sounds complex, and which path is best for me? make the jump animation from scratch and reimport it?

are you referring to this?

Hey @Hector40,

Ideally yes. You would want your animation broken down into those 3 parts so you can control the timing of every jump.

Hey @Hector40!

Checking in, was the above the solution you were looking for?

no, there was no case, it remains the same

Hey @Hector40

Was the animation not able to separate? Or something else?

Any specifics or information you provide can go a long way in solving your problem.
