I have GoPros traveling along a cable, but having alignment issues imaging repetitive features. Is there a way to tell RC where exactly my cameras are relative to each other? Like if I have a txt file with x,y,z coords mapped to each image, can I get RC to use those in alignment?
Hi,
Yes you can make a custom flight log. First in the “alignment” tab go to export–>registration, then choose “comma seperated name x,y,z”
then you can open and edit the .csv file, create a new scene and then alignment–> import–>flightlog to import the csv. Remember to import it as comma separated x,y,z.
But remember these need to be fairly accurate to help. If your speed varies, and the gopro is bouncing on the cable, this might not help.
Thanks for this, I will give it a try. Can I define an arbitrary coordinate system? e.g. Bottom, frontmost, leftmost corner of my desk is 0,0,0; up is z+, right is x+ and further out front is y+?
RealityCapture uses its own coordinate system for non georeferenced objects. Axe Y is pointing to north, axe X to east/right and Z is pointing up. So it seems the same as yours desk coordinate system.
For geoeferenced scenes RC uses defined coordinate systems.
If you have coordinates of the desk, they also can be used in RC.
