Multiverse Cat! A game demo project from a game design student.

I’m a student at full sail university just entering my senior year. This is a side project I have been working on. It is a cat game with a functional portal system. It’s still in its super early stages so be kind! I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

Hey there @YayapDontDie,

Welcome to the Unreal Engine community forums. Pretty Epic to have you here! (Cheesy I know)

Between the robot voice lines and the cheery music, I couldn’t help but enjoy this quite a bit. Was genuinely a joy to watch! What is the plan as far as the end goal for Multiverse Cat? An exploration/adventure type?

Also, I have to say the way you set the running animation on the cat to show the little paw peets with every step brings an indescribable amount of joy to such a short video.

Hey @PresumptivePanda !
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Ultimately I think I want it to be a speed run game where the goal is to get back to the lab before the portal closes, with the side goal of rescuing lost cats as an optional side quest for completionists. I’m currently working on filling out the levels more to give obstacles for the cat to traverse and fill in the scenery to make them more believable. The portal system also functions the same way as in the game “Portal” so the cat can actually place portals anywhere they want, or on designated target walls. So I’m also working on some game type variations that require the player to place portals to traverse the map.

I’m a solo developer on this and it’s mostly a portfolio project for now, but if it generates enough interest and I can get some funding together I’d love to put together a team to flesh out the game more.
