Position: TECHNICAL ARTIST

Location: Remote with possibility of Relocation to our Netherlands studio

Type: Full-Time Paid

We are looking to hire a Technical Artist who can take charge of content-related technical decisions related to the game. This includes visual research and development, creating benchmarks as well as defining processes, pipelines and best practices. As the link between programmers and the art team, the Technical Artist will also assist in evaluating new technologies, supervising content budgets and monitoring performance across multiple consoles. The Technical Artist is expected to take the initiative to interact directly with all disciplines in order to ensure that the Art team has all the necessary tools required to maintain the optimum delivery of art assets. This is, of course, taking into consideration any technical limitations as well as resolving any technical issues as they arise. [HR][/HR]
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the art direction of the project is technically carried out
  • Solve challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline
  • Implement new techniques that increase art quality and efficiency
  • Document and knowledge share these solutions
  • Can demonstrate creativity and technical ability
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Solid grasp of video game art production pipelines
  • Strong Experience with Unreal 4
  • Proficiency in Houdini & Houdini Engine is a plus
  • Proven ability to tackle complex problems. Can adapt and troubleshoot
  • A decent understanding of art and animation fundamentals
  • At least 6 months of professional experience as a technical artist
