Multiple Mesh animated objects import issues (blender to ue4)

Complex objects that have multiple meshes in them like say person+eyes/hair/clothes are imported wrong and never seem to really work for me, i dont know what im doing wrong. They work just fine in blender,but when i try to import it all goes south.alt text

If no special settings are selected the meshes are imported just as separate objects, skeleton is nowhere to be found, same for animations. I watched a few guides on youtube and tried a few things like the ‘click 0 frame reference’ what i got as a result were 200+ tiny elevators which were still separated from door and hatch on top of it >.<

What am i doing wrong?

The elevator in question does not have UVs but otherwise it seems like it should work.
